January Winter Wonders Abound

January brings the frigid cold temps to the Midwest and other areas of the US and it is a forlorn month in some ways as it is really too cold to go out without several tons of layers and double mittens and whatnot to keep warm if at all possible.
The beauty is worth venturing out for however, the landscapes are serene, touched by snow, evergreens looking like a master pastry chef dusted frosting on their boughs oh so delicately.
One of the elements that is amazing in winter, is water. Water and even the sky take on different hues, reflecting the colors and winter sunlight that are present in winter.
The January photo of the month, exemplifies the beauty of January in its textured water patterns and ice petals forming on a broken branch, holding steadfast before the branch continues on its journey downstream.
